ABOUT US
Tammi Hensch is a classically trained musician and experienced bookkeeper. Recognizing that money matters are often the last thing on a creative person’s mind, she launched Harmony Tax Services in 2006, offering tax services and bookkeeping to Toronto’s musicians, artists and actors. Summers spent working at her father’s accounting firm and years of doing taxes for friends and family helped Tammi to identify the unique challenges faced by artists when managing their books.
While completing her Bachelor of Music Performance at the University of Toronto, Tammi also completed two years of commerce studies. She discovered a love for numbers and the seamless relationship between music and math.
“To me it makes perfect sense—music is numbers,” she explains. “Harmony Tax Services is the perfect dovetailing of disciplines. What you have to do to be a good musician is also what makes you a good accountant. You need attention to detail and the ability to discover themes.”
Tammi is a trained bassist with a classical background and love for rock and roll. Still an active musician, she regularly participates in the Shaw Festival and the Windsor Symphony. She also does freelance musical theatre and choral work throughout Toronto.
